Simran Garcha

Overview:

Simran joined Chambers as a tenant in October 2022, after successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Kate Morley.

Simran prosecutes and defends in the Crown, Magistrates’ and Youth Courts. Simran has developed a busy criminal practice and is regularly instructed to defend jury trials. She has experience in dealing with a wide range of offences, including offences of violence, drugs offences, sexual offences and dishonesty offences. She is also experienced in representing clients charged with motoring offences and who are at risk of disqualification.

Simran has appeared in the Court of Appeal and more recently was led junior in a trial involving police misconduct.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Simran worked as a paralegal at a criminal defence solicitors’ firm in the Midlands. She assisted  in the Crown Court department in the preparation of cases including large scale drugs conspiracies. In addition to this, Simran taught public speaking and debating skills to inmates as a Vocalise mentor.
